Central PA Drug Dealer Who Made 'Graphic Threats Of Death' Arrested: Police

A convicted drug dealer with a history of driving under the influence and giving alcohol to kids has been arrested for making threatening text messages, authorities say.

Jemel Mixell, 31, of Mechanicsburg  sent numerous threatening text messages to the victim; including graphic threats of death and bodily injury aimed at the victim and their family in Lower Allen Township, police announced on Friday, March 24, 2023.

A warrant for Mixell's arrest was issued that morning at 8 a.m. following the investigation, which began on March 2, 2023 with the LATPD "took a report from a local resident, regarding ongoing harassment," the police explained in the release.

Mixell has a lengthy criminal record, with convictions in both Cumberland and Franklin counties, court records show. 

His convictions include the following, according to court documents:

In Cumberland County:

  • Manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver in 2011.
  • Driving under the influence: General impairment or incapable of driving safely - first offense in 2015.
  • Simple assault in 2016.
  • Criminal trespass in 2016.
  • Two counts of disorderly conduct, hazardous, or physical offense in 2019.
  • Selling or furnishing liquor, etc. to a minor in 2020.

In Franklin County:

  • Driving under the influence: General impairment or incapable of driving safely - second offense in 2020.
  • Driving while operator privilege suspended or revoked in 2020.

In total he has served nearly two years in prison in addition to probation, house arrest, and other penalties (including loosing his license multiple times), the court records show.  

He was taken into police custody on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 8 a.m., according to an updated release by the police.
